To avert a climate catastrophe, we need bold, credible net-zero pledges matched by concrete action. Building on the ToRs and the Workplan of the group, the objective of the public global session, hosted by the United Nations Foundation, is to share an update on the progress of the work of the HLEG, including inputs from consultations, and timeline to finalize the recommendations for the Secretary-General.Â

With the aim to continue having an inclusive and transparent process to develop recommendations for the United Nations Secretary-General, following its mandate, the HLEG would like to present an update on its work before the recommendations are handed over to the Secretary-General. The session will welcome questions from the audience.
