As the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA) process enters a critical phase, the release of the anticipated GGA indicator report marks an important milestone. To ensure meaningful progress ahead of the upcoming GGA workshop and the Subsidiary Bodies (SBs) meetings in June, there is an urgent need to foster dialogue between technical experts, negotiators, civil society and other stakeholders on how to interpret, apply, and advance the use of these indicators.
This GGA Collaboration Call provides a platform for cross-stakeholder exchange, linking insights from scientific and technical domains with the political momentum required for implementation. The session will focus on how the indicators can support adaptive action and reporting under the UAE–Belém Work Programme and inform the Baku Adaptation Roadmap (BAR).
Objectives
 - Unpack the implications of the technical works of the GGA indicators for policy, planning, and monitoring.
 - Facilitate shared understanding and coordination between technical and political actors to support alignment ahead of SB62.
 - Provide negotiators with an opportunity to reflect on the technical underpinnings of the indicators ahead of the SB meetings in Bonn, and discuss anticipated next steps for implementation, including links to national reporting, the BAR, and future workshops.
