On the occasion of the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), Southern Voice and the United Nations Foundation will gather stakeholders for “A Gender-Sensitive Global Digital Compact: Priorities from the Global South” to discuss collaboratively a set of principles that will ensure that the Global Digital Compact serves women and girls across regions.
The event will convene those involved in the development, regulation, delivery, and use of digital services and technologies. The aim of the convening is to formulate principles that will guide the drafting of a gender-inclusive Global Digital Compact.
The event has three key objectives:
- Highlight emerging knowledge from the Global South that can inform debates on the Global Digital Compact, particularly from the lived experiences of women and girls.
- Foster a dynamic dialogue among diverse actors on how to ensure that the Global Digital Compact incorporates these priorities.
- Present concrete proposals for how the Global Digital Compact can serve women and girls, particularly in the Global South.
