The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) was selected to serve as the main implementing partner in the United States for the Intergenerational Town Hall Series. This initiative, underpinned by the United Nations Foundation and supported through the Unlock the Future Coalition, provides the opportunity for 16 UN member states to host Town Halls that are designed to engage, empower, and elevate voices of young people and future generations.
Different aspects of the UNA-USA Town Hall will be implemented during its annual Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. held June 2-4, 2024. On Sunday, June 2, special roundtable sessions focusing on four of the five chapters of the Pact for the Future will allow attendees to hear from subject matter experts and weigh in on the future in areas like global governance, peace and security, and technology and the future. In addition, an interactive Town Hall focused on the fifth chapter of the Pact for the Future—empowering young people and future generations—will serve as a robust opportunity to encourage sustained intergenerational dialogue and hear from champions who are contributing to the United Nations’ future.
The Intergenerational Town Halls are designed to convene a diverse assembly of participants and speakers, ranging from visionary young leaders and activists to seasoned policymakers, experts, and global thought leaders. UNA-USA encourages and welcomes non-members to participate in these Town Hall elements, so that their voices are heard and represented within the cumulative report that will be developed from the consultations. This report will also include priorities from youth captured by the UNA-USA Youth Observer to the UN, Ose Arheghan, over their term, and will also integrate findings from those who helped to develop the UNA-USA American Youth Declaration of Human Rights. This comprehensive report will reflect the attitudes, opinions, hopes, and needs for a brighter future.
While UNA-USA is serving as the host for the U.S.-based Town Hall, additional partners are invited to participate and engage their constituents to make for a bigger and broader community of intergenerational Americans and all who call the United States home.
Please note that this ticket only grants admission for Sunday, June 2. If you have already registered for the 3-day UNA-USA Leadership Summit ticket, you do not have to purchase this ticket.
